Science In Focus: Force and Motion  "On A Roll"  The force of gravity makes a ball roll when it is placed on an incline. In this workshop, first-grade students roll balls of different sizes, masses, and materials down ramps of varying heights, comparing their speeds. The students then experiment by replacing the ramp with a cardboard tube, and try to determine how the tube must be oriented to allow the ball to roll, much as it rolled down the ramp.G

Teaching Channel Presents  "Reading Like A Historian"  Reading Like A Historian: A detailed look at a cutting-edge history curriculum that turns away from textbooks. We'll join young "Historians in Training" as they examine original documents and engage in lively discussions to discover the complexities of history. D

Looking at Learning....Again Part 1  "The Many Faces of Learning"  In this introductory workshop, you will meet the guest educators featured in the series and hear why they think it is important to continually examine the learning process. You will also have an opportunity to reflect on your own personal beliefs about learning and see clips of classrooms that will be presented in more detail in later workshops. D

Crafting at the Spotted Canary  "Things That Hang on the Door"  Today's show provides an opportunity to add a personal touch to your environment with door decorations. First, learn how to make a wreath made with punches. Next, create a door hanger for a baby's room. D

Crafting at the Spotted Canary  "Things That Bling"  We're adding sparkle to our day with headbands, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Learn the techniques behind these sparkly creations. Sparkle expert Dale Nicholson appears with Joy to demonstrate basic jewelry making techniques. D

New Scandinavian Cooking  "It All Starts with Kids"  Andreas visits Geitmyra Farm in the middle of Oslo, Norway, the site of his new food culture center for kids. Together with the kids, Andreas makes a cereal breakfast, a tasty chicken soup, a warming lamb stew and a sweet dessert with pumpkin and yogurt. D

Christina Cooks  "Cooking with Children"  Many kids crave candy, fast food and soda, and as a result, they sometimes suffer from obesity, adult onset diabetes and premature maturation. Christina offers healthy alternatives to processed snacks and fast foods that many kids love to eat. D

P. Allen Smith's Garden Home  "Gardening with Kids"  Getting kids out in the garden can be educational and fun! Allen shows us how to make a fun garden ornament with kids out of a recycled bowling ball. Plus, we learn how to attract butterflies to the garden and to plant sunflowers. We also visit a poultry show where Allen is teaching kids how to care for the chickens they are raising. D
