Parged plaster, salvaged hearth tile and carefully stained quarter-sawn oak floors all work to revive the look of the original cottage. Norm visits music icon and old house buff Daryl Hall at his antique home and studio. D

Ask This Old House  "Installing Surge Protection/Hardscaping Projects"  Master electrician Scott Caron installs several types of surge protection. Then, general contractor Tom Silva, host Kevin O'Connor, landscape contractor Roger Cook and plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey ask, "What is it?" Afterward, Roger demonstrates how to cut and shape rocks for hardscaping projects. D

Rough Cut - Woodworking with Tommy Mac  "Turned Floor Lamp"  This time, on Rough Cut, Tommy demonstrates the turning technique by using a lathe and shows how to turn cove and bead shapes into a Tall Floor Lamp. He heads to New London, New Hampshire, on a Rough Cut Road Trip, to visit the studio of artist Peter Bloch, who turns lamp shades out of Aspen logs. Back in the studio, Tommy is joined by his friend and fellow woodworker, Al D'Attanasio. D

NOVA  "Ground Zero Supertower"  NOVA examines the new skyscraper rising up 104 stories from the site where the Twin Towers once stood. This update of "Engineering Ground Zero," goes inside the construction of the tower's final floors and the installation of its 800-ton spire and beacon. The show also goes underground to inspect the multi-billion dollar transit center with its sweeping design.G

Moyers & Company  "The Collision of Sports and Politics"  On occasion, a sports story breaks free from the sports section - as highlighted by this week's Time magazine cover story, "It's Time to Pay College Athletes". These headlines are less about the latest star or the final score and more about culture, politics, and who we hope to be as Americans. Should we build flashy new arenas in bankrupt cities? Do we cheer from the stands or cringe as we watch our children butt heads on the football field, risking a future of potential brain trauma? On this week's Moyers & Company (check local listings), Dave Zirin, sports editor for The Nation - the magazine's first sports editor in the publication's 148 year history - joins Bill Moyers to talk about the collision of sports and politics.
