Passport to Adventure  "Rocky Mountain Parks of Alberta, Canada"  Landing in Edmonton, we step directly into Canada's railroad history before embarking on the scenic train ride to Jasper. Touring the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, we stalk elk with our lenses, ride the "Sno Coach" onto a glacier, hike, canoe and learn about the early adventurers that made this area a renowned mountaineering center, and a mecca for nature lovers from around the globe. D

Globe Trekker  "Globe Trekker Special: The Making of Globe Trekker"  Cameras turn on a GLOBE TREKKER crew on the road to capture how the series is filmed.G

The National Christmas Tree Lighting 2012   The White House tradition celebrates its 90th year with a musical program, a presidential message, and throwing the switch for lighting on the 28-foot-tall Colorado blue spruce from Virginia. Singer James Taylor headlines the performances that include Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Colbie Caillat and Phillip Phillips.G

Austin City Limits  "Monsters of Folk"  The five musical monsters - each a songwriter and each an acclaimed musician in his own right - pack the set with Americana-infused folk ballads and raucous Southern rock romps. Much of it is from the collaborative songs of their debut self-titled release.G

8:00 pm 
Live From Lincoln Center  "The Richard Tucker Opera Gala"  The Richard Tucker Music Foundation features its 2012 award winner, soprano Ailyn Perez, joined by baritones Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Gerald Finley, mezzo-soprano Olga Borodina, tenors Stephen Costello and Marcello Giordani, bass Ildar Abdrazakov, bass-baritone Erwin Schrott and others onstage in a program of favorite arias and ensembles, including selections by Verdi, Rossini, Donizetti, Massenet, Mascagni, Handel and Wagner. Maestro Patrick Summers, artistic and music director of Houston Grand Opera, leads the lineup of luminaries, supported by members of the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Choral Society. The broadcast will include a feature on Perez, as well as backstage interviews with the artists. D
