Making Meaning In Literature: A Video Library, Grades 6-8  "Dramatic Tableaux"  This program features the seventh–grade Berlin, Maryland, classroom of Dr. Jan Currence. Currence and her students delve into Christopher Paul Curtis's The Watsons Go to Birmingham — 1963. Currence first models and then engages students in tableau activities, in which students draw on their experiences to bring the text to life for others. D

Tommy Tang's Easy Thai Cooking  "Loy Krathong Festival at Sukhothai"  Thai Hom Mali Rice, Red Curry Chicken, Thai style Omelets and Sauteed Broccoli with Bacon are made.G

Sara's Weeknight Meals  "Sunday Comfort Meals"  Why rush? Sunday meals are all about comfort, familiar dishes made with love and eaten with family and friends. On top of the list is Roast Chicken Stuffed with Zucchini and Cheese to keep it moist and flavorful. Deviled Bones sounds gothic, but it's meaty, tender short ribs coated with a kick of mustard for heat. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Lisbon and the Algarve"  Rick explores Lisbon, a mix of glorious old and fun-loving new. He finds salty sailors' quarters and wistful Fado singers mixed with ornate architecture recalling the days when Portugal was a world power. On the coast, Rick visits the Algarve, explores Cape Sagres and savors pristine beaches.G

Travelscope  "Greece - Cruising The Isles"  A Greek Island cruise sounds like a bit of a cliche, but not when Joseph and the crew of Travelscope make landing on some of the Goddess Athena's special children. There's plenty of ancient history and beautiful scenic bays to explore, but the real life of the voyage is the opportunity to pull the small cruise ship right up to the docks and discover the heart and soul of the Greek isles and the people who inhabit them. There's always a story to be told and a laugh to share around a table of great food, local wine and music. D

P. Allen Smith's Garden Home  "Shape and Form"  After pointing out examples at the Garden Home Retreat, Allen heads to Kentucky for a tour of Churchill Downs race track. He also visits the Arkansas governor mansion, where bare root roses are being planted.G

Ask This Old House  "Repairing a Shower Valve; Rebuilding a Wobbly Stair Banister"  Plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey helps a homeowner repair her faulty shower valve. Then, general contractor Tom Silva helps a homeowner rebuild her wobbly stair banister. D

For Your Home  "Don't Forget The Yard"  Since the outside matters as much as the inside, Vicki and Sloan share their garden designs and vision. They get expert advice to keep the landscape environmentally friendly, personal and low maintenance. D

Katie Brown Workshop  "Minty Holiday"  Host Katie Brown creates recipes and projects inspired by the festive red and white peppermint. In the Kitchen: refreshing mashed potato blend, rack of lamb with minty glaze, and Kim's thin mint cookies. Projects: Peppermint place settings and a tabletop sign that spells JOY. D

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting  "Spring Flowers"  Liz Porter shares her techniques for using fusible web and windowing for a simple applique project. D

Donna Dewberry Show  "Geranium-Mania"  Donna teaches how to paint geraniums using small brushes and her One Stroke techniques. Then turn ordinary clay flowerpots into works of art with easy to master shading techniques. D

Cook's Country from America's Test Kitchen  "Beef Meets Grill"  Bridget Lancaster shows host Christopher Kimball how to make real Texas Barbecued Beef ribs at home. next, equipment expert Adam Reid reviews paper plates, and finally, Julia Collin Davison uncovers the secrets to preparing perfectly char-Grilled steaks at home. D

Lidia's Italy In America  "Chicago: Chicago's Italian Beef Sandwich"  NULL

Theater Talk  "Venus In Fur: Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy"  Actors Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy discuss their roles in David Ives' play Venus in Fur. They talk about working with director Walter Bobbie to stage this drama, which was inspired by the 19th-century novel, Venus in Furs, by Leopold von Sacher-Mason. Also, a conversation with composer Michael Gore and librettist Lawrence D. Cohen, creators of the notorious musical Carrie, another show based on a classic novel, in this case by Stephen King. D

11:30 pm 
Closer to Truth  "Is The Universe Religiously Ambiguous?"  Does God exist or not exist? How can so many people be so absolutely sure-either way? But maybe that's the point! Maybe "God" and "No God" are both defensible. What would that mean?. D
