From championing the protection of ancient varieties, to cooking and grinding it into masa for tortillas, Amado just might be the corn guru of Oaxaca. D

Martha Stewart's Cooking School  "Preserving"  Martha demonstrates two of the oldest preserving techniques, confit and salting, and shows how viewers can put them to use in the home kitchen. Martha makes an assortment of confits - starting with the most classic: duck, which can be served on its own or as a rich addition to salads, then followed by lemon and tomato confits, both of which make excellent condiments for grilled or roasted meats. She then shows how to make gravlax, a delicious cured salmon appetizer. D

Joanne Weir's Cooking Confidence  "You Say Harissa"  Each time Joanne travels, she loves to find ways to bring exotic flavors home. In this episode, she shows her student Michelle how a picant spice rub, harissa, can quickly transform a home cooked meal of pork tenderloin into a gourmet experience with a cooling mint and cumin yogurt on the side. Next, tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Chris to a tasting of crabmeat. Then, test cook Julia Collin Davison uncovers the secrets to perfect Grill-Smoked Salmon with lots of smoke flavor. D

Scrapbook Soup   Julie Fei-Fan Balzer opens the show demonstrating a technique for upcycling wrapping paper. Next, Tonya Lutz uses a variety of techniques with colored pens, pencils, rubber stamps, and inks to design a scrapbook page. Then, Jo Pearson creates an angel using a papier mache mannequin. D

This Old House  "Cambridge 2012/Window Seat, Stairs, Knee Walls"  Landscape contractor Roger Cook installs new granite steps, and host Kevin O'Connor helps general contractor Tom Silva build a timeless window seat and some MDF doors cleverly disguised as wainscoting. Master carpenter Norm Abram works on the treads and newel cap on the stairs, and the pine ceiling accents get whitewashed and lacquered. D

Ask This Old House  "Using Hand Planes/Repairing A Cracked Stone Walkway"  In the workshop, general contractor Tom Silva demonstrates the proper way to use hand planes. Then, Tom, along with host Kevin O'Connor, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey and landscape contractor Roger Cook, asks, "What is it?" Afterward, Roger helps a homeowner repair a cracked stone walkway. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Granada, Cordoba, and Spain's Costa Del Sol"  Andalucia's Moorish heritage sparkles in the historic capitals of Granada and Cordoba. Rick tastes the smooth sherry and marvels at prancing stallions as he finds the passion in Andalucian culture. He finishes his visit with fun in the Spanish sun on the coast.G

Not wanting to miss the investiture of even a junior level, Susan commands that Ben attend the ceremony, leading to a sticky result.G
