Candles & Carols   For nearly 50 years, Anderson University's annual "Candles & Carols" event has ushered in the Christmas season at the Indiana liberal arts institution. Audience members return year after year to hear the familiar strains of "Silent Night" and other traditional Christmas hymns echo through the campus auditorium amid the glow of candlelight. The 2011 edition of CANDLES & CAROLS spotlights the professional-caliber talents of the more than 250 students from AU's School of Music, including the Chamber Orchestra and Chorale, the Men's Choir, the Women's Chorus, the Wind Ensemble and the Dance Ensemble. NOVA  "Building Pharaoh's Ship"  NOVA follows a team of archaeologists and boat builders as they reconstruct the mighty vessel shown on a mysterious carving on the wall of a 3,500-year-old temple built for the female pharaoh Hatshepsut. According to the wall carving, the vessel embarks on a royal expedition to a mysterious land called Punt. Today's adventurers launch their boat into the Red Sea on a modern voyage of discovery.G

With some practice, and a lot of encouragement from his WordFriends, Robot learns the game and turns into a slugging machine! M is for Map - After a fun day of adventuring through the jungle, Sheep and Bear discover they are lost - and it's almost dark! In their haste to get home before sunset, the WordFriends lose the letters to their map. They have to sound out and hunt down the letters in "map" - but with Adventure Sheep leading the way, nothing is ever easy!. D

Sarah teaches Caillou to build a snowman, Dad helps him stay upright on his ice skates (and picks him up when he falls down), and Mom shows Caillou the fine points of downhill skiing, including how not to be afraid of the ski lift. When Caillou and Dad get to the vendor too late to buy a good Christmas tree, they decorate one in the yard instead. D

Barney reminds them that Christmas is more than just getting gifts and helps them learn the meaning of Christmas. Winter - Baby Bop is surprised by the first day of cold weather, and Barney helps her see that winter can be a time of wonderful fun. D
