Primary Sources: Workshops In American History  "Concerning Emancipation: Who Freed The Slaves?"  This workshop examines the role of the enslaved in bringing about the end of slavery in the United States. Through analysis of President Lincoln's attitudes and actions before and during the Civil War, and correspondence, speeches, legislative orders, newspaper articles, and letters written by African Americans, enslaved and free, workshop participants debate the influences prompting Emancipation.G

The twins, Jason and Jeffrey, have come to play with Caillou in the snow. An investigation into some small tracks in the snow, leads them to a mischievous and playful squirrel that soon has them running around the yard. D

Gordon arrives at the Waste Dump and decides that the only thing for him to do is to hide when other engines arrive at the dump. Gordon just cannot be seen at such a smelly place! As the day progresses, Gordon hides from Spencer, Diesel and Thomas. D

He is very apprehensive and does not want to go. So Daniel asks Mom Tiger questions about the shot, and she shares her trick for staying brave in scary situations. D

Science Trek  "Simple Machines"  Simple machines include the lever, the inclined plane, the wedge, the pulley, the wheel and axle, and the screw. Combine these simple machines and you can create almost anything that makes work easier. Host Joan Cartan-Hansen is joined by John Gardner and Kathryn Devine. Woody Sobey of the Discovery Center of Boise will also do a special demonstration of simple machines.G

Martha Speaks  "Eyes on the Skies/Camp Truman"  Eyes on the Skies - Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson (Truman's #1 hero), is holding a seminar at the library. Truman becomes more and more certain that his activity partner T.D. is going to embarrass him in front of his idol. D
