Grand View  "Devils Postpile National Monument"  This episode explores one of the most unique phenomena in geology; Hexagonal pillars of Basalt lava that were revealed during the last Ice Age. Located in the Eastern Sierra, this rare and beautiful feature ranks as one of the world's finest examples of columnar basalt. The region reveals a volatile geologic history, with reminders bubbling up from the valley floor. D

Annabel Langbein: The Free Range Cook  "Fiesta for Friends"  Annabel Langbein picks heritage apples from a family orchard dedicated to preserving rare varieties in sunny Nelson, New Zealand. Returning to her lakeside cabin, she cooks a Mexican-style feast of succulent slow-cooked pork with smoky chili beans and guacamole, followed by the easiest, most refreshing apple and raspberry sorbets ever.
