Cuisine Culture  "Daniel Boulud, New York"  Daniel Boulud takes us to his butcher in New York's Meat Packing District to choose the cut for his famed Seared Rib Eye and Red Wine Braised Short Ribs, teamed with a Tomato in a Light Choron Sauce stuffed with Marmalade, Spinach Fondue, Diced Buffalo Mozzarella Salad and a heavenly serving of Pommes Dauphines. We recreate coveted dishes from the acclaimed restaurant Boulud: Peekytoe Crab Salad in a mold of Persian Cucumber-Black Sesame Coulis, draped with Early Mesclun and Radishes. Dessert is arguably the best molten lava cake in the world: a Warm Guanaja Chocolate Coulant filled with oozing Liquid Caramel and paired with a Creamy Milk Sorbet. D

Next, gadget guru Lisa McManus reveals her top pick for vertical roasters. Then, tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges host Christopher Kimball to a tasting of brown rice. D

This Old House  "Barrington Project, Part 5 of 10"  Landscape restoration specialist Kate Venturini arrives from the University of Rhode Island to create a sustainable coastal landscape with the help of local landscape contractor Henry Pereira. Builder Andy Tiplady finishes up the shingles and trim at the master bedroom porch just in time for local metalsmiths to install the custom copper gutter and scupper that will keep rain out of the space. Members of the URI Master Gardener's association lend a hand installing coastal tolerant and native plants on the site, while local sod grower Pat Hogan delivers a freshly harvested fescue/bluegrass blend that will require less water, less fertilizer and less maintenance overall. D

Ask This Old House  "Planting a Garden Using Native Species; Replacing a Door with a Window"  Landscape contractor Roger Cook travels to Dallas to help a homeowner plant a garden using native species that are drought-tolerant. Then, general contractor Tom Silva helps a homeowner remove a door and replace it with a window. D
