On this month's Science Trek, host Joan Cartan-Hansen and her guests will answer students' questions about zoology. Cartan-Hansen will be joined by Steve Burns, director of Zoo Boise and by Holly Holman, Zoo Boise's veterinarian. Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking  "San Luis Obispo, California"  In this episode of Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking from San Luis Obispo County, California, Curtis jumps into the waters of Morro Bay Oyster Company, a hub for oyster farming since the early 1900s, with internationally-renowned California-based chefs David Rosner and Sherry Yard to source local Pacific Gold oysters. They then journey to San Luis Obispo's fertile farmlands to visit Rutiz Family Farms, which produces pesticide-free crops. At a local vineyard, the chefs prepare a grand feast in front of a beautiful backdrop of the region's volcanic peaks. D

Mary Ann goes nella cucina to a braised beef dish in red wine called Brasato, from Lombardy, and the other a delicate chicken stuffed with spinach and Fontina cheese, cooked - in what else? Taste of Louisiana with Chef John Folse & Company: Hooks, Lies & Alibis  "Catfish - Lake Des Allemand"  In this episode, John travels to Lake Des Allemand, east of New Orleans where he learns the methods of catching catfish from German descendants. John's nephew Jay and his daughter Allie, teach John the hoop net method of catching fish and then have a good old fashion catfish fry. Back on the White Oaks Dock, John's guest is Don Dubuc, famous local outdoorsman and host of a TV and radio show for the last 20 years. D

Rudy Maxa's World  "Kyushu"  It was still snowing when the Rudy Maxa's World film crew shot in Japan's northern island of Hokkaido. But just short flight away, on one of Japan's most southernmost islands, Kyushu, the cherry blossoms were out and beach goers were burying themselves in the hot sand-heated by the island's volcanos-on beaches.
