Science Trek  "Trees"  The oldest living thing on Earth is a tree. It is also the heaviest and the tallest. Trees keep our air clean, reduce noise pollution, improve water quality, help prevent erosion, create shade, provide food, building materials, homes for wildlife, and make our world beautiful. Joan Cartan-Hansen and her guests Brian Jorgenson, City of Boise Forester, and Michelle Youngquist, Educational Coordinator, Idaho Forest Products Commission, answer students' questions about trees.G

Roadtrip Nation  "Hollywood"  In Los Angeles, Calif., the Roadtrippers make their way to Amoeba Music, one of the largest indie record stores in the U.S., to meet co-owner Karen Pearson. D

Joseph Rosendo's Travelscope  "France - Bordeaux"  A celebration of wine, food and good times. In his Bordeaux, France adventure Joseph tours the UNESCO World Heritage town of Bordeaux and the small wine making and exporting villages that comprise the region. Along the way he indulges in romantic castle visits, gourmet dinners and spectacular encounters with the history, art and music of the area. D

On The Road with Vic Rallo: Italy!  "Chianti"  Vic visits an organic poultry farm in Gaiole, a village in the hills of Chianti and discovers traditional treasures at Badia a Coltibuono, an 11th century abbey now home to a winery and cooking school. At the Lorenza de Medici cooking school, de Midici's daughters, chefs Benedetta and Emanuela, teach Vic easy ways to prepare fresh ingredients, and discuss the region's unique cheese and salume. Tony Verdoni offers a lesson on the folklore of Chianti classico. D

Primal Grill with Steven Raichlen  "On The Vine"  Beer may be the beverage served at a lot of American cook-outs, but much of the world's barbecue trail runs directly through regions famed for their wine. This show will focus on the important role vines and wines play in barbecue-the former as a wrapping and fuel; the latter as an ingredient in marinades and sauces. Trout grilled in grape leaves; red-wine marinated filet mignon; and an interesting twist on "beer can" chicken, made with cabernet sauvignon. D

Dream of Italy  "Umbria"  Umbria has long loomed in the shadow of neighboring Tuscany but visits to Assisi and Perugia introduce the viewers to the rich treasures of this region. In Perugia, we meet two women carrying on their family traditions -- Maddalena Forenza creating stained glass and Marta Cucchia and her handmade textiles. Just outside Perugia, at the Perugina Chocolate School, chocolate maestro Massimiliano Guidubaldi teaches Kathy to make the famous Baci candy. D

Mike Colameco's Real Food  "Racines/Wine Disciples"  Two restaurants that are wine lovers paradise, both affiliated with wine shop. Racine's is linked to Chambers St Wines down the block, spot on French inspired menu and an amazing selection of wines by the glass or bottle. Wine Disciples is a store right next to a restaurant, here the cooking is American / Italian, ingredient driven and the wine list by glass and bottle is wonderful. D

Chef's Life  "Muscadine Time"  Ben, Vivian and the twins pick muscadine grapes at a small local vineyard while learning the history of this native grape. Vivian visits Mike and Gator, her grape suppliers, and makes homemade wine. Back at the restaurant, Vivian makes a pizza with mulled muscadines, and Ben tests this new creation during their first stressful pizza night in the wine shop. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Siena and Tuscany's Wine Country"  Siena, once a proud and independent city-state, retains its confidence and unique traditions. Rick enjoys a front-row seat at its wild horse race - the venerable Palio - and marvel at cultural treasures from the days when Siena rivaled Florence for leadership of Tuscany. Then he heads into wine country for a little dolce vita under the Tuscan sun. D

My Greek Table with Diane Kochilas  "A Bite of Greek Red Wine"  Go on a picnic at a vineyard in Naoussa where one grape dominates the table: the local Xinomavro (pronounced xee NOE ma vroe), one of Greece's noblest reds. This delicious, tannic wine pairs perfectly with a cheese and spice stuffed leg of lamb and is the key ingredient in succulent red wine and sage potatoes. Red wine with fish is on the menu, too. D

America's Test Kitchen from Cook's Illustrated  "Seafood Supper"  Host Julia Collin Davison reveals the steps for making perfect pan-seared salmon. Next, tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges host Bridget Lancaster to a tasting of fish sauce. Then, science expert Dan Souza demonstrates the differences between wild and farmed salmon. D

Growing a Greener World  "The Compost Pedallers (Austin, TX)"  Using the clean energy of pedal power, this small, eco-minded company, The Compost Pedallers, will bike to your door, pick up your weekly collection of compost ingredients, and haul it off to a nearby farm to do the dirty work for you. It's a winning recipe and a growing business model that's as green as it. D

Family Ingredients  "Wisconsin - Fiddlehead Fern"  Hear from Kaua'i farmer Valerie Kaneshiro, forced to leave her home on an Ojibwe reservation in Wisconsin at 15. She tells a story of loss, rediscovery and lessons learned while sharing an ingredient in a dish found in Wisconsin and Hawai'i. D

Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi  "Montreal Then & Now (Montreal, Canada)"  Montreal's European history translates to its traditional dances from France, England, Scotland, and Ireland - Mickela gets a taste of this Old World feel at La Grande Rencontre Festival, while also experiencing the artistic modernity of this city. She also gets a first-hand lesson on dance for people with disabilities. D
