Everyday Edisons  "I Can Finally Grasp It!"  We've all heard that "a friend in need, is a friend indeed," but for inventor, Mark Stark, it was no question that his friend needed a helping hand. Born without his left hand, Mark's friend, Dave Vogt never knew what his friend was working on in his shop and garage for months and months until one day, he presented Dave with an artificial hand that would change his life. A heart-warming story of compassion and friendship, this episode brings to light a need, an idea, a prototype and, of course, a challenge to our Everyday Edisons team. D

Everyday Edisons  "Happy Trails (And Trials) to You"  The waiting is over! A year after the casting calls, our 10 inventors are eager to know what's become of their inventions. In our final episode of the season, we reveal the status of each prototype, where they are in the timeline of success and how our Everyday Edisons team has worked with inventors throughout the season to help them to achieve their ultimate goal. Some may see their products stocked in major retail stores, others on direct response television spots and a few may face further obstacles to their success. D

Great American Seafood Cook-Off   Fires blazed and seafood sizzled as New Orleans hosted the fifth annual Great American Seafood Cook-Off in August 2008. During the two-day competition, 15 chefs from 14 different states prepared their best dishes using the seafood indigenous to their state. Famed New Orleans chef John Besh, the winner of the 2004 competition and the 2006 James Beard Foundation's Best Chef of the Southeast, hosted the event. D

Kimchi Chronicles  "The Seoul Food Chronicles"  This fast-paced episode features the best of South Korea's innovative capital city - from royal court cuisine to late-night drinks and snacks consumed exclusively in pop-up tents. Marja and Jean-Georges also share their favorite historic temples and palaces, enjoy the striking fashion and even take a spin in an amusement park. Seoul, located just 30 miles from the 38th Parallel that separates North and South Korea, is also home to Doorei, the Vongerichten's favorite restaurant in Korea. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Lisbon and the Algarve"  Rick explores Lisbon, a mix of glorious old and fun-loving new. He finds salty sailors' quarters and wistful Fado singers mixed with ornate architecture recalling the days when Portugal was a world power. On the coast, Rick visits the Algarve, explores Cape Sagres and savors pristine beaches.G

Learning Math: Patterns, Functions & Algebra  "Linear Functions and Slope"  Explore linear relationships by looking at lines and slopes. Using computer spreadsheets, examine dynamic dependence and linear relationships and learn to recognize linear relationships expressed in tables, equations, and graphs. Also, explore the role of slope and dependent and independent variables in graphs of linear relationships, and the relationship of rates to slopes and equations.G

Topics include the different meanings attributed to the equal sign and the strengths and limitations of different models for solving equations. Explore the connection between equality and balance, and practice solving equations by balancing, working backwards, and inverting operations.G

Saving The Ocean  "Destination Baja"  A remarkable success story of how local fishing people developed a whale-watching co-op that now caters to tourists from all over the world. The co-op runs not only the tourist accommodations, but also polices the lagoon, regulates access to the whales, and preserves most of the area as a quiet sanctuary for the whales and their calves. And it's not just whales -- there are now several other highly successful, self-regulated fishing co-ops along Baja's Pacific coast. D

Saving The Ocean  "Swordfish!, Part 1"  This two-part special tells the story about sustainable harpoon fishing of swordfish focusing on a group of fishermen in Nova Scotia. D

Nature  "Jungle Eagle"  The world's most powerful birds of prey, the top predators of the South American rainforest, Harpy Eagles are seldom seen. Filmmaker Fergus Beeley and his camera team locate a nest 130 feet above the jungle floor and risk attack by the adult female to install a nest cam for close-up views of the Harpy family. They follow the chick for a year as he grows to adulthood.G

Caillou  "Safety First Caillou"  Caillou's Cross-Hop: Caillou doesn't want to hold hands and obey safety rules.until he discovers a bunch of tiny frogs that need help crossing the street. Realizing it's hard work helping others to cross the road safely, he has a new appreciation for Mommy and Daddy's rules. D

Barney & Friends  "Little Red Rockin' Hood/Differences"  Little Red Rockin' Hood - Baby Bop is having a hard time finding a story she hasn't heard before. Differences - When a wheelchair-bound child is unintentionally neglected by his friends, Barney steps in to help. D

Thomas & Friends  "Don't Give Up"  Percy and the Calliope - Percy and Diesel are instructed to take a rusty old organ - the calliope - to be melted down. Percy is determined to save it from this terrible fate. He pitches himself into a race against time to make the organ play before Percy and Diesel reach the Smelter's Yard. D

Martha Speaks  "Martha Takes The Cake/Codename: Martha"  Martha Takes the Cake - It's Alice's birthday and everybody's invited, including Martha. The only problem is that Nelson will be there too. Codename: Martha - Martha, Helen, and T.D. uncover a plot to rob the jewelry store, or so they think until their two suspects turn out to be police detectives on a stakeout.G
