Chris Tarrant: Extreme Railways  "Ice Train to Nowhere (Alaska)"  Chris heads to the Arctic to explore a railway which probably should never have been built, the Alaska Railroad. Constructed when the USA's largest state was barely populated, Chris wants to find out how and why it has become such a success. But, traveling at the tail end of winter with few trains, completing his journey to the end of the line in Alaska's frozen interior is not going to be easy. D

We examine what is happening with wild horse herds in Idaho and how some new ideas may offer solutions to a seemingly hopeless situation.G

East and west of the Cascade Range are two different landscapes. On the east side, David climbs through lavas of volcanic glass and follows a mountain bike trail at the edge of a flow, then ventures west to the fertile valleys and the wild Pacific coast in all its glory. In his Bordeaux, France adventure Joseph tours the UNESCO World Heritage town of Bordeaux and the small wine making and exporting villages that comprise the region.
