Contrary Warrior: The Life and Times of Adam Fortunate Eagle   Contrary Warrior tells the story of Adam Fortunate Eagle, a contemporary activist, artist, author, ceremonial leader. At the age of five, his father dead and his mother unable to provide for eight children, Adam and his siblings are sent to an Indian boarding school where he spends his childhood. After graduating from Haskell Institute in Kansas he moves to San Francisco and becomes a successful businessman and the "perfect" urban Indian - a poster child for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. D

Buddy Holly: Listen to Me   To celebrate what would have been Holly's 75th birthday in September, this tribute at The Music Box in Hollywood includes Stevie Nicks, Chris Isaak, Lyle Lovett, Raul Malo and Graham Nash rocking the house filled with superstar guests. All performers join in for the rousing finale rendition of "That'll Be the Day."G

Long Walk: Tears of the Navajo   In 1864, 8,000 Navajo men, women and children are marched at gunpoint to a barren reservation along the Texas border. This relocation is aimed at crushing American Indian resistance in the Southwest. Hundreds die on the march and during the years of isolation. Peter Coyote narrates.G

P.O.V.  "New Muslim Cool"  Puerto Rican-American rapper Hamza Perez pulled himself out of drug dealing and street life 12 years ago and became a Muslim. Now he's moved to Pittsburgh's tough North Side to start a new religious community, rebuild his shattered family and take his message of faith to other young people through hard-hitting hip-hop music. But when the FBI raids his mosque, Hamza must confront the realities of the post-9/11 world, and himself. D

America at a Crossroads  "Dissonance and Harmony: Arabic Music Goes West"  The film follows an eclectic mix of Middle Eastern musicians from their own very specific turf in the Middle East to the United States. In Los Angeles, they collaborate with other gifted musicians from the West.G

Legends of Folk: The Village Scene   Host Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary introduces vintage performances from Greenwich Village in the 1960s. The New York City area was the epicenter of the folk, folk rock and singer songwriter movements amid a neighborhood of cafes and coffee houses. The program features newly filmed interviews with Peter Yarrow, Tom Paxton, Michelle Phillips, Don McLean, John Sebastian, Maria Muldaur and John Cohen. Featured artists and songs include: Bob Dylan ("Blowin' in the Wind"), Simon & Garfunkel ("The Sound of Silence"), Peter, Paul & Mary ("If I Had a Hammer"), Joan Baez ("It Ain't Me Babe") and John Denver ("Leaving on a Jet Plane").G

Dialogue  "James McPherson"  James McPherson is one of America's greatest Civil War historians. McPherson's Pulitzer Prize winning writing captures the drama of this era and his latest book, "Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief," gives new insight into Abraham Lincoln's remarkable skill as a military leader. Joan Cartan-Hansen talks with McPherson about Lincoln and why we are still fighting over some of the same issues we thrashed out in the Civil War 150 years ago.G
