NOVA  "Mt. St. Helens Back from the Dead"  For 30 years Forest Service biologist Charlie Crisafulli has documented the dramatic return of plant and animal life to the devastated slopes of Mt. St. Helens after the 1980 eruption. But he also witnesses the mountain's own return to life. Using GPS, magnetic mapping and more, geologists track the movement of magma and the volcano's hidden lattice of faults.G

The adventure also includes composer Eric Satie's eccentric world, Normandy cuisine, a tour of the D-Day beaches and a visit to the abbey of Mont St. Michel.G

The Desert Speaks  "Sea to Sky: Along An Incan Road"  Sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes are enigmatic remains of pre-Incan cultures, with vast rock art sites, colossal effigies etched into the nearly lifeless desert and burial sites that lay forgotten under the arid land for centuries. Examine these ruins and remains before venturing to the skies for a bird's-eye view of the famed Nazca lines. These mysterious drawings in the desert floor are astonishing in their creativity and size, with images of hummingbirds, monkeys and parrots hundreds of feet long and perfectly proportioned and geometric shapes that extend for miles. D

The British victory here enabled their continued occupation of Philadelphia. Chef Walter talks with a surviving member of the Chew family and he prepares Potato Leek Soup, Roasted Leg of Lamb and Cardoon au Fromage. D

Simply Ming  "Richmond - Ian Lai"  In this episode of Simply Ming, Chef Ming Tsai is on the road in Richmond, British Columbia. Joined by local chef Ian Lai, our team grabs some fresh haddock and salmon fresh off the boat at Fisherman's Wharf, then heads out to Terra Nova Park to cook with some wonderful Canadian ingredients fresh from the Terra Nova community garden. Vivian and her mom, Scarlett, make her grandmother's candied yams, and Vivian later re-imagines these for the restaurant with texture, sorghum and pecans. Mother Earth Brewery and Chef & the Farmer team up for a beer dinner, featuring first-of-the-season sweet potatoes. D

Sesame Street  "Elmo and the Monarch Butterfly"  Elmo and Telly are reading the book Fascinating Facts About Insects. First they see two ants, and after looking at them through their magnifying glass, they learn that ants never sleep. Next they see two ladybugs and learn that ladybugs smell with their feet. D

Dinosaur Train  "Dinosaur Train Submarine: A Sea Turtle Tale/Rocket Train"  Our Pteranodon family is on the beach watching small eggs hatch and baby Archelon turtles emerge, and start to swim away. Our family and Mr. Conductor get into the Dinosaur Train Submarine and follow the baby Archelons who discover their own facts of nature - that their mother doesn't stay with them after they're born, and that they will grow up to be giant-sized sea turtles. Tiny and Buddy find out that a newer train will be riding the same tracks as the Dinosaur Train. D

Peg + Cat  "The Blockette Problem/The Tulip Problem"  The Blockette Problem - Radio City Music Hall. When their demanding pal Richard is directing the Radio City Music Hall Blockettes, Peg and Cat find a way to make the set perfectly symmetrical.
