The first order of business is reclaiming a good percentage of the backyard from invasive vines and brambles that have been encroaching on the lawn for years. Landscape contractor Roger Cook and his crew make quick work of it, using a skid steer loader with a brush hog attachment. D

Ask This Old House  "Insulating a Wall; Repointing a Fieldstone Foundation"  Host Kevin O'Connor works with an insulation contractor to show the proper way to insulate a wall using fiberglass batts. Then Kevin, along with landscape contractor Roger Cook, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey and general contractor Tom Silva, asks "What is it?" Afterward, Tom helps a homeowner repoint a fieldstone foundation. D

Oregon Field Guide  "Bald Eagle Recovery, Cyclocross, Jim Anderson"  Cameras capture video of eagles in the largest wintering grounds for the birds in the 48 contiguous states. The episode also provides an update on the bird's removal from the Endangered Species List and includes a climb up into an eagle nest.G

Finding Your Roots  "Sanjay Gupta, Margaret Cho and Martha Stewart"  All children of first- or second-generation immigrants, the three subjects share the peculiar burdens of their heritage. Masterpiece Mystery!  "Sherlock, Series II - A Scandal In Belgravia"  Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) are plunged into a case of blackmail involving crafty dominatrix Irene Adler, whose motto is "know when you are beaten." It seems she has incriminating photos of a session with a member of the British royal family. She and Sherlock feel an attraction even as they strive to thwart each other's goal.G

New Tricks  "Setting Out Your Stall"  The UCOS team reinvestigates a sensitive case when new information links the unexplained death of popular trader, found dead near her stall at Cook Street Market, to a series of recent drug rapes in East London. The team members look into her private life and past for clues while trying to stay out of the way of the other investigation.G

11:30 pm 
Official Best of Fest  "Cheating"  Two award-winning short films illustrate lessons about cheating. From Ireland Rear View features a taxi driver who is presented with a dilemma. From the United States comes Fool Me Once, a film about a game of deception and greed.G
