Critical Issues In School Reform  "Reflecting On Teaching Practice: Student Work, Teacher Work, and Standards, Part 1 Math"  A tenth-grade math teacher from San Bruno, California, presents a sample of student work from her classroom to a group of teachers, administrators, and a facilitator. The group uses a "tuning protocol" to examine this work, give the teacher feedback, and discuss its implications for her teaching practice. D

Critical Issues In School Reform  "Reflecting On Teaching Practice: Student Work and Teacher Work, Part II Science"  A fourth-grade teacher from Worcester, Massachusetts, shares a sample of work from her science classroom with a group of teachers and administrators in a facilitated "consultancy" that focuses on a question posed by the teacher about the student work and her teaching practice.G

Sara's Weeknight Meals  "Indian Style"  There's something about the flavorful combination of ingredients in Indian food that makes it a really nice change of pace from our typical weeknight meals. Sara's friend Madhur Jaffrey joins her in the kitchen today to prepare a few of her quick and easy Indian favorites, like a tender Pork Vindaloo. Hard-boiled Eggs Masala is quick and nutritious served with a side of Whole Green Lentils, and Royal Chicken Cooked in Yogurt is paired with a cauliflower dish that is absolutely delicious. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Andalucia, Gibraltar and Tangier"  Exploring the quintessence of Spanish culture in Andalucia, Rick rolls down from whitewashed hill towns to the coast and takes in the windsurfing at Tarifa. He catches a bit of Britain on the Rock of Gibraltar and then sails to Africa for a Moroccan finale in Tangier.G

Travelscope  "Taiwan - The Culture of Tea"  The mystery and majesty of tea is explored when Joseph spotlights the culture of this royal beverage on Taiwan. During this adventure he travels to Lujang to join in the creation of traditional tea snacks, visits an Assam tea farm in Nantou, participates in a formal tea ceremony in Tainan and tops it all off with a visit to the annual Lantern Festival in Chiayi. Along the way he meets the masters of Taiwan's pottery, tin-sculpting and lantern-making arts. D

Allen Smith's Garden Home  "The 12 Principles"  Opening a new season, Smith gives an overview of the 12 design principles that will be used in the shows, illustrated by examples in his own Garden Home Retreat. He also shares tips on maintaining a lawn and gets advice from an expert on espalier fruit trees.G

Ask This Old House  "Installing a Solid Oak Front Door; Driving Rebar Into the Ground"  General contractor Tom Silva heads to Atlanta to help a homeowner install a solid oak front door. Then Tom, along with host Kevin O'Connor, landscape contractor Roger Cook, and plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey, asks, "What is it?" Afterward, Roger shares several tips for driving rebar into the ground. D

Knit & Crochet Today  "Mixing Knit & Crochet"  Have you ever had anyone ask you which is better, knit or crochet? Well we think they're both great. Today we are ending the knit vs crochet battle once and for all by combining both techniques. First we have a gourgeous sweater and then a pair of fingerless beaded gloves. We will also visit with designer/teacher/author Barry Klein.G

Donna Dewberry Show  "New Traditions"  Donna expands her decorating ideas in a variety of directions in this new series, which features her new one-stitch sewing technique and her familiar one-stroke painting method. She begins by painting four gallery-style canvases for a wall group in her "New Traditions" style, then makes a complementary throw using fabric painted in similar patterns.G

Next up, we toast the New Year with Jackie Hoffman (of Hairspray and The Addam's Family), who starred in the soon-to-be holiday classic Jackie Hoffman's A Chanukah Carol. D
