Cyberchase  "A Time to Cook"  Hacker finds the part he needs to fix his Magnetic Magnotube - a machine that would disable Motherboard forever - in a most unlikely place. All he has to do to get it is win a cooking contest on the hit cyberspace TV show, THE FEARLESS CHEF. Hacker's plan? To kidnap his competition. D

Quilting Arts  "Contemporary Approaches to Traditional Technique"  There is always a lot of discussion on what makes a traditional technique have a contemporary feel. It could be the colors, it might be the simplicity of the design, and sometimes it's even negative space. Today's show features current artists sharing their interpretation of some traditional techniques. D

Paint This with Jerry Yarnell  "Chesapeake Bay Visitors, Part 1"  Acrylic Medium on 15x30 horizontal stretched canvas. In this first episode Jerry explains the ecological significance of the Chesapeake Bay being the largest estuary in the United States. Then he proceeds by showing how to paint the sky and block in the water. D

Ellie's Real Good Food  "No Brainer Breakfasts"  Ellie tackles the challenge we all face every day--what's for breakfast, especially in a busy household when everyone is out the door like a pool ball break. She helps out Mary, a mom and an elite athlete and coach, who literally hits the ground running each morning. Recipes: Make-ahead mini frittatas with leeks and asparagus; Morning glory baked oatmeal; Peanut butter and grapes wrap; Avocado toast with egg. D

Pati's Mexican Table  "Izamal - Gold & God"  Izamal is a stunning city whose buildings are all painted the same golden hue. At its center is an enormous and impressive Franciscan monastery built right on top of ancient ruins of a Mayan temple. Pati explores this beautiful city, tasting the local flavors like venison tacos and poc chuc. D

This Old House  "Arlington Arts & Crafts Arts and Crafts From Top to Bottom"  Tommy frames up a new Arts & Crafts style front porch using custom cut pieces. Richard visits a marble quarry in Vermont. Emily considers new color combinations for the exterior while Mark McCullough shows Kevin how to fix the original stucco panels. D

Globe Trekker  "Food Hour: The Story of Tea"  Trekkers Rosie Lovell, Peter Gordon, Bobby Chinn, Merrilees Parker, Megan McCormick, Holly Morris and Ben O'Donoghue uncover the story of how tea spread from China to capture the taste of the world. Visits to Southeast China, Japan, Taiwan, England, Bangladesh, India, Morocco and Myanmar provide historical context, a look at cultural traditions and rituals, and what the future holds for this popular beverage. Lidia's Kitchen  "Risotto"  If you can't make it to Milan for a dish of "Risotto alla Milanese" bring the dish to your kitchen! Lidia begins today's meal with a creamy risotto alla Milanese with saffron and marrow bone followed by a succulent quail stuffed with Italian sausage and mushrooms. For dessert, it's an Italian classic - light and creamy panna cotta with seasonal berries. D

Cook's Country  "Latin Heat"  Test cook Julia Collin Davison shows host Christopher Kimball how to make a regional recipe, puffy tacos, at home. Then, tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Chris to a tasting of tortilla chips. And finally, test cook Erin McMurrer reveals the secrets to perfect chicken chilaquiles. D

Simply Ming  "Ivan Orkin"  This week on Simply Ming, it's time for two new twists on surf & turf! Ming upgrades a classic, making a flavorful shrimp, beef and broccoli spooned over a tasty brown and white rice mix. Zagat favorite Ivan Orkin joins him in the kitchen to put together a distinctive meal of Romanian steak served on crispy shrimp toasts. D

Steven Raichlen's Project Smoke  "Big Bad Beef"  For many people, beef makes the ultimate barbecue. This show celebrates beef in all its smoky glory, from not-so-traditional beef jerky (marinated in fiery Sriracha and smoked in an electric smoker) to a magisterial whole smoked beef tenderloin smoked in an upright barrel smoker and served with horseradish whipped cream. Of course, you'll learn how to smoke brisket Texas-style (rubbed with spices and cooked in a massive offset smoker fired with oak logs. D

Grannies On Safari  "Peru - Cusco & Machu Picchu"  Travel with the Grannies to Cusco, a world heritage site, and the former capital of the Inca civilization. At 11,900 feet high, this ancient city was not only considered sacred by the Incas but was a jewel of the Spanish colonial world. The city is considered the arts and crafts capital of Peru. D
